Joseph P. White, Sr., 76, of Carbondale, PA, died Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at home. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Ann Diddick White, who died July 13, 2012. They were married May 25, 1974.

Born May 12, 1948 in Scranton, PA and raised in Dickson City, PA, he was the son of the late John and Agnes Wroblewski White.

At a young age Joseph had to help raise his family and worked as a bowling pin stacker. He

then worked at Marjol Battery, Scranton Galvanizing, and later in life as a vendor at Sugarman's Plaza Flea Market.

He proudly raised his children instilling values that they carry today. He enjoyed fishing and music, especially Elvis, and was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by three children: Karen Moyer and husband, Dayle of Simpson, PA, Joseph White, Jr. and wife, Heather of Carbondale, PA and Leah Voight and husband, Michael of Carbondale, PA; ten grandchildren: Jessica, Michelle, Theresa, Mariah, and Justin Hastings, Timothy, Kimberleigh, and Terrance Moyer, and Jayda and Sarah Voight; several great grandchildren; two brothers: John and Patrick White; a special cousin: Allen Wroblewski; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister: Melanie Kane.

A blessing service was held Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. Seth D. Wasnock, pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale, PA, officiating. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Joseph White, Jr., Dale Moyer, Michael Voight, Jesse Smith, Nathan Nolan and John Ranallo.

Friends called Monday, October 14, 2024 from 5-8 p.m.
