Joseph James Valentine, 21, of Union Dale, PA, died Wednesday evening, August 6, 2014 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. Born April 15, 1993 in Scranton, PA, he is the son of Joseph C. and Lisa A. (Proctor) Valentine of Union Dale, PA. Joseph was a 2011 graduate from Mountain View High School and also earned a diesel mechanic degree from WyoTech in Blairsville, PA. He worked for many years at Lapera Oil Company, Inc., Royal, PA. Joseph was a member of St. John Vianney Parish, Royal and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing on the beach. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He is survived by two sisters: Katie Valentine at home and Sarah Perdew and husband Rhett of Clifford, PA; one brother: Frankie Valentine at home; maternal grandparents: James and Linda Proctor of Union Dale, PA; two great grandmothers: Ella Proctor and Marilyn Feick; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: John and Frances Valentine; one uncle: John Valentine; one aunt: Brenda Napierkowski. The funeral was held Monday, August 11, 2014 at 9:15 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, celebrated by Rev.
