Joseph A. Mihalisin, age 71, of Clifford, PA., passed away Wednesday morning, August 1, 2007 at the Mercy Hospital Hospice Inpatient Unit, Scranton, PA.
His wife is the former Rebecca Bates.
Born March 26, 1936 in Peckville, PA., he was the son of the late Frank and Victoria (Turnovich) Mihalisin.
He was a graduate of Blakely High School and was a manager and buyer at Sugerman's Department Store in Eynon, PA., for 42 years in the automotive, power and marine equipment departments. He also worked at Jonal's Lawn and Garden in Greenfield Township, PA., for 5 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by one son: Walter wife Brenda Mihalisin of Clifford, PA.; one sister: Frances Hoehle of Eynon, PA.; one brother: Robert Mihalisin of Eynon, PA.; two grandchildren: Matthew Megan Mihalisin of Clifford, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews. A memorial service was held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Clifford Baptist Church, with the Rev. John McCarty, pastor, officiating. Cremation took place from the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Clifford Baptist Church.
