Joseph J. Krupovich, 70, of Clifford Township, PA., died Monday afternoon, October 10, 2011 at the Northeast Pennsylvania Hospice, Scranton, PA. His wife is the former Caroline Lavriha. They would have celebrated 41 years of marriage on October 31, 2011.
Born May 4, 1941 in Peckville, PA., he was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Venosh) Krupovich.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Forest City, PA. and served in the Army during the Vietnam War where he was a sharp shooter and expert marksman. He was the owner operator of Joe Krupovich Trucking for over 30 years along with being a well known auto mechanic in the area.
He was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and classic cars. He was always there to lend a helping hand to others with nothing expected in return. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank all of the staff, especially Greg, at the Northeast Pennsylvania Hospice of Scranton and Northeast Regional Oncology Center, Dunmore.
He is survived by one daughter: Lynn Krupovich-Moran of Clarks Summit, PA.; two sons: Joseph Krupovich, Jr. and wife Carrie of Clarks Summit, PA. and Ryan Krupovich and wife Christie of Gibson, PA.; two grandsons: Dylan and Colin Moran both of Clarks Summit, PA.; three sisters: Patricia Fenton of Sturges, PA., Ann Bryla of Montdale, PA. and Beatrice Swingle of Mayfield, PA.; four brothers: John, Robert and James Krupovich all of Eynon, PA. and Frank Krupovich of Lake Henry, PA.; several nieces nephews.
The funeral was held Friday, October 14, 2011 at 9:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 612 Hudson Street, Forest City, celebrated by Rev. Patrick L. Albert, pastor. Interment with military honors, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City, PA.
Pallbearers: John Isger, Daniel Colachino, Michael Panasevich, David Bostjancic, Steven Yancovich, Gary Toth, Thomas Brozonis, Dean Fazio and Robert Venosh. Friends called Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 4-8 PM.
