Joseph Granville, age 47, of Carbondale, PA., died Friday evening, April 25, 2008 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1961 in Carbondale, PA., he is the son of Paul Granville and step son of Barbara (Robinson) Granville, both of Carbondale. He is preceded in death by his mother, Theresa (Hemak) Granville. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale. He was a graduate of Carbondale Area High and worked construction 10 years for Grimm Construction Company in Waymart, PA. He loved billiards, golfing, his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and most of all, he was the Pittsburgh Steelers # 1 fan. He was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by one sister: Kimberly Granville of Carbondale, PA.; three brothers: Paul Granville of Carbondale, PA., Jack Granville of Greenfield Township, PA. and James Granville of Montdale, PA.; one step brother: Roger McKinney of South Canaan, PA.; one step sister: Lisa Mousley of Mount Cobb, PA.; Several nieces, nephews Cousins. He was preceded in death by his step mother: Alice (Hall) Granville. The funeral was held Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest, and Deacon Ed Casey. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Paul Granville, Jr., Nicholas Granville, Harry Granville, James Granville, Jr., William Novings and Richie Ruggiero. Friends called Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 5-9 pm.
