Joseph A. Gabby Falbo, 87, Carbondale, PA., died Thursday evening, January 26, 2012 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre, PA., after a brief illness. His loving and devoted wife of 58 years is the former Dora Dorothy Liuzzo. Born in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Salvatore and Sadie Tolerico Falbo. He was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was a Navy veteran having served in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Albert H. Crane Post 221 of Carbondale and the Disabled American Veterans, Cerra-Leo Post 98 of Carbondale where he also served as Commander. He was also a member of the Italian American Veterans, AMVETS Post 33 and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Carbondale. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends who would always stop to see him. He is survived by his sister-in-law: Tina Falbo of Connecticut; sister-in-law: Teresa Liuzzo of Mayfield, PA.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Tom and Faith Liuzzo of Carbondale, PA.; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, especially Danny and Tyler Colachino whom he always looked forward to visiting him. He was preceded in death by one sister: Rose Bradley; six brothers: Frank, Fred, Anthony, Sam, Peter and Eddie Falbo. The funeral was held Monday, January 30, 2012 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale., celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Jeff Liuzzo, Danny Colachino, Danny Colachino, Jr., Tyler Colachino, Joseph Liuzzo, Charles Falbo, Paul Bradley and Danny Totsky. Military honors were performed by the Simpson VFW, Post 4712 Honor Guard. Friends called Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 3-6 PM.
