Joseph A. Curto, 85, a resident of the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carbondale, PA., died early Tuesday morning, February 12, 2008 at the nursing home. He was the husband of the late Rose Donato, who died August 23, 1986.
Born December 17, 1922 in Archbald, PA., he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (DeFazio) Curto. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and prior to his retirement he was a construction worker for Local 542 for over 30 years.
He is survived by one daughter: Lisa Gallagher and husband Gerald of Olyphant, PA.; two granddaughters: Koryn Kylah Gallagher; two brothers: Thomas Curto and wife Becky of Clifford, PA. and Robert Curto of Florida; one sister: Marie McCloskey of Lansdowne, PA.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: James Curto; one sister: Alice Borowik. The funeral was held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 9:15 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:50 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by the Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: A.J. Gallagher, Thomas White, Michael Bomba, James Frisbie, Mark Casamassina and Zak White. Friends called Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the funeral home.
