Joseph A. "Froggy" Carlo, 87, of Carbondale, PA, died Monday morning, October 27, 2014 at VNA Hospice, Scranton, PA. His wife the former Eileen McAndrew, died on October 29, 1973.
Born July 31,1927 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Frances Liuzzo Carlo. He worked with his father at The Modern Bakery located on Fallbrook Street until 1950 when he became the owner and operator of JJT Trucking of Carbondale along with his brothers John and Teddy. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Joe was deeply close to his brothers and sister and took great pride in his life to be a caregiver to them all until their passing.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Home Health Care Professionals in Eynon, PA for all of their wonderful care to Froggy during his illness.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews; many wonderful friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Anthony, Silvio, Theodore "Teddy" and John Carlo; one sister: Frances Mascaro. The funeral was held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview & 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Joseph Carlo, Anthony Carlo, David Carlo, Robert Bird, Philip Horne and Joseph Celbusky.
