Obituary

Joseph P. Amadio, age 55, of Carbondale, PA., died Friday morning, July 25, 2008 at the Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit, Scranton, PA., after a brief illness. His wife is the former Ann Marie Homets. Born August 21, 1952 in Carbondale, PA., he is the son of Mildred (Mullaney) Amadio of Newark, DE. and the late Joseph Amadio of Vandling, PA. He was a graduate of Lakeland High School and a self employed automobile mechanic for 30 years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed caring for others, especially his nieces nephews. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandson Jeffrey. He is survived by one son: Joseph Amadio of Carbondale, PA.; one grandson: Jeffrey Snyder of Browndale, PA.; two sisters: Gail Faraone of Newark, DE. and Mary Lavoie of Elkton, MD.; two sister-in-laws: Maryann husband John Iyoob of Tompkinsville, PA. and Diane Nevins of Carbondale, PA.; one brother-in-law: Frank Homets of New London, CT.; Several nieces Nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Richard Amadio. The funeral was held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 10:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Monday, July 28, 2008 from 4-8 PM. Pallbearers: Tom Ward, Joseph Ward, Bill Ward, George Ward, Dominick Esgro, Jack Iyoob, Jeff Nevins and David Nevins.
