Jonathan M. Granick, 35, of Lenoxville, PA., died Sunday, October 26, 2008 at home. Born December 21, 1972 in Tunkhannock, PA., he was the son of John A. Granick of Union Dale, PA. and Linda L. Decker McGlone of Philadelphia, PA.
He was a graduate of the Mountain View High School Class of 1991 and Johnson Technical School. He was employed by the Heavy and Highway Construction Workers Labor Union #158, Harrisburg, PA., for the past 10 years. He was an excellent guitar player and song writer. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by a son Tyler Belcastro of Royal, PA.; one daughter: Lindsay Granick of Royal, PA.; two sisters: Lisa Granick and companion Reuben Mudge of Jackson, PA. and Kassia Shifler and companion Dan Torres of Philadelphia, PA.; four brothers: William Granick and wife Donna of Nesquehoning, PA., Joshua Shinn and wife Jill of Cape Cod, MA., Andrew Granick of Tunkhannock, PA. and Matthew Granick of Union Dale, PA.; maternal grandfather: Verdon Decker of Lenoxville, PA.; six nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Faye Decker and paternal grandparents: Joseph and Aleatha Granick. The funeral was held Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with the Rev. James Madas, pastor of the Kingsley Community Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
