Jon Joseph Gerrity, 82, of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Born March 5, 1939 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice Degnon Gerrity. Jon was a 1958 graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale, and a 1962 graduate of the University of Scranton where he participated in the Army ROTC program. He served in the U.S. Army for twenty years and later worked as a case worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare's Scranton office. After his retirement, he was a valued employee at Wegman's in Dickson City, PA. He is survived by cousins. Private interment will take place at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA, under the direction of Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
