John E. Wolff, 67, of Carbondale, PA, died Thursday, February 2, 2017 at home.
Born July 19, 1949 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Judith Miller Wolff.
He was a graduate of Scott Township High School and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had been a longtime employee at Thomson Consumer Electronics in Dunmore, PA, prior to its closing. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 221 in Carbondale and was its current Commander. He was also a member of the Walter Paciga VFW Post 4712 in Simpson, PA, and its Honor Guard unit.
John will be remembered for his generosity and kind heart. Over the years, he helped many people during their time of need.
He is survived by two children: Edward Wolff and wife Ashley of Tunkhannock, PA and Petty Officer 2nd Class Heather Wolff, USN. of Key West, FL; two grandsons: Kurt Edward and Gunnar Joseph Wolff; and many close friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Kurt Wolff.
Friends called Monday, February 6, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale. Military honors were conducted at 8 p.m. Cremation followed.
