John K. Valentine, age 71, of RR1, Uniondale, PA., died Monday Evening, February 13, 2006 at the Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA. He was the husband of the former Frances J. Augustine, who died October 13, 2001. Born May 19, 1934 in Clifford, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and Nellie Puza Valentine. He was a graduate of the Harford High School and later served in the Army. Prior to his retirement, he was a self employed dairy farmer and later worked for Lapera Oil Company and Gas Station in Royal, PA. He was a member of St. Pius X Church, Royal and the Knights of Columbus, Council #3506, Forest City, PA. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and dancing to polkas. He was very handy and was known to be able to fix anything that was broken. He treasured his grandchildren and family and will be deeply missed by them. He is survived by two sons: John W. and wife Christine and Joseph C. and wife Lisa Valentine all of Uniondale, PA.; one daughter: Brenda and husband Edward Valentine-Napierkowski of Kingsley, PA. two brothers: Frank Valentine of Uniondale, PA. and Norbert Valentine of West Clifford, PA.; three sisters: Jennie Krisak of New Jersey, Isabelle Ball of Florida and Vickie Park of New Jersey; 9 Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Brittany Valentine; one brother: Edward Valentine The funeral was held Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 9:00 from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA., with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor of St. Lawrence Church, Great Bend, PA. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Friday, February 17, 2006 from 2-4 7-9 PM Pallbearers: Gene Fitzpatrick, Jim Augustine, Chuck Black, Walter, Gary and Emil Pawelzik.
