John Shust, 77, a lifelong resident of Greenfield Township, PA, died unexpectedly from a heart attack Thursday afternoon, October 30, 2014 in Greenfield Township while mowing grass. His wife was the former Jane McGurrin, who died December 26, 2005.
Born August 26, 1937 in Greenfield Township, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Justina Guzzi Shust. John attended Greenfield Township School until the 11th grade and graduated from Scott Township High School. He owned and operated Johnny's Body Shop in Greenfield Township for over 50 years and was a jack of all trades who took great pride in any work that he completed.
He also enjoyed taking care of horses, along with his companion, Jean Lynch, who brought such joy to his life over the past few years.
John's pride and joy was his two grandchildren, whom he was so proud of and supported through their lives. His family and friends will deeply miss him, especially his son Joseph who had a very special bond with his Dad. He is survived by one son: Joseph Shust of Greenfield Township, PA; two grandchildren: Daniel and Kristin Shust; companion: Jean Lynch of Greenfield Township, PA; one brother: Thomas Shust and wife Jean of King of Prussia, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Paul Shust. The funeral will be private and take place at the convenience of the family with no visitation. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA.
