Obituary

John E. Ross III, (Johnny, Boom, Cone, Boomhower, John E.), age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022.

Born in Tampa, Florida, he spent most of his life at Crystal Lake, Pa. He was a 2006 graduate of Lakeland High School where he played football, and a 2010 Bachelors of Education graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He was a Cub Scout and received the Arrow of Light Award and was the first Ironman recipient of the Lakeland Area Boy Scouts of America.

He was a volunteer fireman at the Greenfield Twp. Volunteer Fire Company.

He was the only son of Holly S. Ross and John E. Ross Jr. He is survived by his aunt, Sherry Bonner and her wife, Monica Quinn; and his uncles, Karl Bonner and Robert Bonner. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Sara Bonner. He leaves behind his best friend and "brother," A.J. Pevec.

He was an animal lover and bestowed his loving care on many dogs including his dog, Sadie. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Indians. He will live on as one of the most polite, sensitive and beautiful persons you ever met, taken from this world way too soon.

A memorial service was held Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Moxie Club, 80 Orchard St., Carbondale, Pa., at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Pastor Bonnie Resseguie.

Arrangements were under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent in his name to the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 10 Hart Place, Carbondale, PA 18407.
