John J. Rogari, 74, of Rileyville, PA, and formerly of Carbondale, PA, died Sunday, January 9, 2022 at home surrounded by his family from complications with Covid-19. He is survived by his wife of 53 years the former, Lois A. DeFazio.
Born May 31, 1947 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late James and Cecelia Serafine Rogari.
John was a retired dry wall finisher having worked for Local 218, in Scranton, PA. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. John and his family operated Rogari's Tavern on Gordon Avenue for three generations before its closing.
He is survived by two children: Lisa Burns and husband, James of Scott Township, PA and James Rogari and companion, Kelly Smith of Carbondale, PA; four grandchildren: Alexander and Christopher Burns and Cori and Eliana Rogari; three great grandchildren: Dante, Adelina and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Saturday, January 15, 2022 at noon from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by his nephew, Rev.
