John A. "Jack" Passiment, 74, of Carbondale, PA., died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He wife is the former Margaret Kelsch. They were married 52 years on November 9th.
Born April 24, 1941 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John and Mary Mahon Passiment.
Jack was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and served 21 years with the 109th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He spent his entire career as a clerk at Acme Supermarket in Carbondale and later retired from Weis Market in Carbondale. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.
He is survived by two sons: John Passiment and wife Andra of Carbondale, PA and Joseph Passiment and wife Diane of Jermyn, PA; a brother: Gerald Passiment and wife Susan of Carbondale, PA; six grandchildren: Courtney, Eric, Connor, Kaitlyn, Jacob and Alayna; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment with military honors, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Connor Passiment, Jeff Kelsch, John Wilcha, John Uram, Jr., Donald Asinski and Darryl Kelsch. Friends called Monday, November 23, 2015 from 4-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions were sent in Jack's name to the Cottage Hose Company, 2 Greenfield Road, Carbondale, PA 18407
