John J. Lynch, Jr. age 69, of 12 42nd Street, Carbondale, died Tuesday morning, May 28, 2002 at home following a brief illness. His wife is the former Rose McDonald. Born March 4, 1933 in Carbondale, PA. He was the son of the late John J. Sr. and Lorraine (Trotter) Lynch. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoors-man. He was a farmer for over 50 years prior to his retirement. He is survived by one daughter: Michele Pond of Carbondale, PA.; two sons: John Lynch, III. and David Lynch both of Forest City, PA.; four sisters: Veva Lynch of Scranton, PA., Edna Galanis of Annadale, VA., Nancy White of Jermyn, PA. and Joan Peduto of Greenfield Twp., PA.; 5 Grandchildren The funeral was held Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc. Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with mass at 9:30 am from St. Rose Of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Thomas J. McDermott, Assistant Pastor. Interment, Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp. Viewing was held Thursday, May 30, 2002 from 7-9 and Friday, May 31, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9.
