John F. Carlo, 84, of Carbondale, PA., died early Tuesday morning, March 10, 2009 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Born May 30, 1924 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Antonio and Frances (Liuzzo) Carlo.He was a graduate of Carbondale schools and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a partner in JJT Trucking Company of Carbondale with his brothers and was president and owner of Child's Auto Sales.He was a member of the American Legion, Albert H. Crane Post 221 of Carbondale and he served on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Auto Dealerships Association for many years. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale.He will be deeply missed by his family and his dog Max who he was always seen with. He is survived by one brother: Joseph Froggy Carlo of Carbondale, PA.; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by three brothers: Anthony, Sylvio, and Theodore (Teddy) Carlo; one sister: Frances Mascaro.The funeral was held Friday, March 13, 2009 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: David Carlo, Theodore Carlo, Joseph Carlo, Anthony Carlo, III., Robert Bird and Joseph Celbusky. Friends called Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
