John F. Bullaro, Sr., age 70, of Pittston, PA., died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, PA. His wife was the late Barbara D. Tronko, who died December 6, 2005.
Born February 11, 1941 in Scranton, PA., he was the son of the late Angelo and Mary (Esgro) Bullaro.
He was a member of St. Maria Goretti's Church in Laflin. He was attained the honor and distinction of a 4th Degree Knight and was a member of the John F. Kennedy Council 372, Pittson. He was also a member of the Pittston Senior Center, Disabled American Veterans, Dupont VFW, American Legion, Swoyersville and the Greater Pittston AMVETS.
He was a construction worker for the local 130 Laborer's Union and also owned operated Bullaro Sons Cleaning Service, Avoca, PA. and worked at Howard Johnson's, Pittston and the Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport.
He is survived by two sons: John Bullaro, Jr. and wife Donna of Scranton, PA. and James Bullaro of Jessup, PA.; five grandchildren: Jonathan Bullaro and wife Suzie, Laura Morenus and husband Hunter, Justin Bullaro and girlfriend Mia, Jason Bullaro and fianc Linsey and Joshua Bullaro; three sisters: Josephine Dixon and husband Walter of Moosic, PA., Angie Kaminski of Duryea, PA. and Ann Marie McCarthy of Pittston, PA.; one brother: Thomas Bullaro and wife Anita of Tampa, FL.; his companion: Jennie Gilroy of Pittston, PA.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one niece: Maria Kaminski; two brother-in-laws: John Kaminski and James McCarthy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 9:30 AM from St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, PA., celebrated by Monsignor Neil Vanloon, pastor. Military Honors were performed by the Greater Pittston AMVETS. John had the Rosary said in his honor by the St. Maria Goretti Berevement Group prior to the Mass. A viewing was held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6-9 PM at Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Avenue, Exeter, PA.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
Pallbearers: Jason Bullaro, Jonathan Bullaro, Justin Bullaro, Joshua Bullaro, Thomas Bullaro, Richard Jansov, Walter Dixon, Sr. and Walter Dixon, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Knights of Columbus, Pittston.
