John Bobrovcan, Sr., age 90, of Clifford Township, PA., died Monday afternoon, January 9, 2012 at home. He was raised in Hillside, NJ. where he met his wife of 69 years, the former Margaret Hanna.
Born May 5, 1921 in Newark, NJ., he was the youngest of four children and the son of the late Michael and Suzka (Salish) Bobrovcan.
They moved to Rahway, NJ. in 1951 to raise their family and then relocated to Barnegat, NJ. in 1989. Clifford Township, PA. has been their home since 2009. He was a Sergeant in the Army Air Corp, serving in the China Burma India Theater during World War II. He retired from Bristol Myers, Hillside, NJ. in 1984 where he worked as a machinist for 37 years.
He is survived by his loving children: Janice Bobrovcan and Todd Bobrovcan and wife Colleen; He was the very special Grumpus to his seven adoring grandchildren: Kelcey Parker and Husband BJ, Joshua Bobrovcan and wife Jen Hunter, Darcy Ervick, Molly McClung and husband Mark, Dane Ervick, Kaitlyn and Casey Bobrovcan; four great grandchildren: Monte Parker, Noah McClung, Liam McClung and Xander Ervick; one daughter-in-law: Sandy Bobrovcan; two sisters: Martha Bracher and Susan Paszkowski.
He was preceded in death by one son: John Skip Bobrovcan, Jr.
Services were private. Cremation arrangements were under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
