John Bencivenga, 51, of Equinunk, PA, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. Born November 23, 1965 in West Islip, NY, he operated a landscaping business in Bay Shore, New York called Italian Stallion Lawn Service, a division of The Sod Father. He was also associated with his brother at Hancock Auto Sales, Hancock, NY, where he was an auto detailer. John loved watching movies. He is survived by his mother: Josephine (Luchen) Bencivenga of Equinunk, PA; one sister: Elaine Duffy and boyfriend Bert Butler of Walton, NY; two brothers: Cono Bencivenga and wife Julie of Bethpage, NY and Emanuele Bencivenga and wife Genna of Thompson, PA. He was preceded in death by his father: Cono Bencivenga. Private funeral arrangements were conducted at the convenience of the family from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
