John J. Baptista, 88, of Greenfield Twp., PA., passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 4, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born April 5, 1929 in Rhode Island. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Claudia Baptista. John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He worked his entire life until he became ill. He and his wife owned their own company, C & J Ride Exchange. They bought, fixed and sold amusement equipment for amusement parks and carnivals across the world. John enjoyed what he did, but he worked hard. Due to his business he traveled to many amusement parks and carnivals with his family. He is also survived by three daughters, Vanessa Baptista of Scranton, PA, Elizabeth ODonnell of West Warwick, R.I., Kathay Brouillard and her husband, Paul, of Coventry, R.I.; six grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica and husband, Justin, John, Kimberly, Melissa, Paulie; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church at St. John Vianney Parish, 704 Montdale Road, Scott Twp. PA,, concelebrated by the Rev. Michael Kirwin, pastor and Rev. Phil Pfleger. Interment, St. Josephs Cemetery, Washington, N.J.
