Joann Hunter, 64, of Kingsley, PA, died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Brian Hunter. Born November 28, 1956 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Evelyn Feduchak Rudick. Joann was a 1974 graduate of Mountain View High School, Kingsley, PA, and had been employed at Gertrude Hawk Chocolates in Dunmore, PA. She loved animals and will be deeply missed by her six dogs and two cats. Joann thoroughly enjoyed house cleaning and will be fondly remembered for her clean and tidy home. She is also survived by a son: Justin Hunter and wife, Ann of Peckville, PA; two grandchildren: Felix and Quinn Hunter; two sisters: Delores Rudick and Mary Sands Fay both of South Gibson, PA; a nephew: Jason Sands and wife, Kim of South Gibson, PA; a great nephew: Ewan Sands; and several cousins. She was also preceded in death by a niece: Stephanie Sands. The funeral was held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Rev. Bonnie Resseguie, officiating.
