Joan F. Davis, 72, of Forest City, PA., died Wednesday morning, April 9, 2008 at Mercy Hospice, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of Walter J. Davis.
Born March 29, 1936 in Dickson City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Agnes (Preambo) Kersavage.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City. Prior to her illness, she had been employed in the warehouse at Sears.
She is survived by five children: Joan Herman and husband Thomas of Cataula, GA., Walter Davis and financee Roxann Smith of Great Bend, PA., Peter Davis and wife Vicki of Carbondale, PA., Kenneth Davis of New Columbia, PA. and Michelle Davis of Forest City, PA.; four sisters: Ann Battle and husband John of New York, Irene Perry and husband Ben of Waymart, PA., Pauline Henderson of Throop, PA., and Marie Mackreth and husband Gene of Newfoundland, PA.; one brother: Joseph Kersavage of Peckville, PA.; 10 grandchildren: Christine Herman, Erica Magera and husband Matthew, Peter Davis, Jr., Amanda Davis, Kenneth Davis, Brittany Davis, Jo-Ann Howells, Danielle Jones, Tracy Sanderson and Jeff Jones; 5 great grandchildren: Casey and Michael Howells, Alexa and Makena Sanderson and Ian Dzielak; two half sisters: Tina and Cathy Weinberger both of Scranton, PA.; one brother-in-law: Robert Davis and wife Dorothy of Forest City, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews. Memorial Devine Liturgy was held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 306 Susquehanna Avenue, Forest City, by Msgr. John Sekellick.
A private Parastas service for family members was held Thurday, April 10, 2008 at 8:30 PM in the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA. Cremation followed at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
