Jo-Ann D. Judge, 75, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, PA, following a short battle with colon cancer. She was the wife of Martin Peter Judge, who died October 13, 2011.
Born August 19, 1939 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Lynch Thompson. Jo-Ann was a 1957 graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale and was a driver for NEIU, Childs for ten years. She then worked as a switchboard operator for seven years at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and enjoyed reading and gardening. Jo-Ann will be deeply missed by her family and her shih tzu Holly.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Geisinger-CMC Hospital for there kind and compassionate care to Jo-Ann.
She is survived by two daughters: Colleen and Michelle Judge, both of Carbondale, PA; one son: Thomas Judge and wife Carrie of Eynon, PA; four grandchildren: Matthew, Brandon, Connor and Gabrielle Judge, all of Eynon, PA; one sister: Mary Cosminski and husband Phil of Dalton, PA; one brother: Edward Thompson and wife Nancy of Sewell, NJ; nieces and nephew: Beth Cosminski, Tara Nohs, Jennie Styer and Sam Cosminski. The funeral was held Friday, January 30. 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, pastor. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart, PA.
