Jerome "Jerry" Fortuner, 46, of Jessup, PA, died tragically on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Childs, PA. Born January 19, 1968 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of Michael Fortuner of Vandling, PA and the late Ruth Louise Shuman Fortuner. He was formerly employed at Jerry's Sports Center in Forest City, PA, but his passion was being a firefighter. For many years, he was a volunteer with the Vandling Fire Company. He was a kind and loving son, brother and uncle who was fondly called Kool Aid in his younger years. He was an avid collector of patches and loved dalmatians. He is survived by three sisters: Joan Jaggers of Simpson, PA, Theresa Mikolon of Union Dale, PA and Susan Pauswinski of Forest City, PA; four brothers: Michael Fortuner, Jr. of Pleasant Mount, PA, Randy Fortuner of Vandling, PA, John Fortuner of Browndale, PA, Dennis Fortuner of Virginia and Andrew Fortuner of Forest City, PA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: James Fortuner. As per Jerry's request no services were held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
