Jennifer A. Cox, 38, of Scranton, PA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at home.

Born February 20, 1984 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of JoAnn Rowe Rivers of Carbondale, PA, and the step daughter of Gary Knapp of Carbondale, PA.

Jennifer was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Carbondale, and previously worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at Allied Services, Scranton. She was currently employed as a manager at Walmart, Taylor, PA. Jennifer was a book lover and had a passion for writing. She was independent and hard working. She was quick witted and silly. Jennifer had the heart of an angel and her hugs were infectious. To know her, was to love her. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by four sisters: Elizabeth Cox of Roanoke, VA, Barbara Cox of Eynon, PA, Melissa Cox of Carbondale, PA, and Brittany Brown of Simpson, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Monday, November 21, 2022 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA., celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnak, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Rylei Kilmer, Landon Rivera, Lavrey Brown, Noah McCaffrey, Cohen Langan and Ryan Brown.

Viewing hours were held Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 2-5 p.m.
