Jennie Chinni, age 88, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA., died Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2013 at the Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville, PA.
Born June 27, 1924 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Christina (Chamlichella) Chinni.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and retired after 50 years from Gentex Corporation, Simpson, PA. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her nieces and great nephew because her family meant everything to her. She was a good hearted person and was loved by all who knew her. She also enjoyed watching daily mass on television and game shows. She will also be missed by the apples of her eye, her poodles, Candy, Daisy, Blossom, Autumn and Lilly.
She is survived by three nieces: Judy, Maryann and Giovina DePoti, all of Carbondale, PA.; one great nephew: John DePoti of Carbondale, PA.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Dominick Chinni; one sister: Josephine DePoti.
The funeral was held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 10:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: John DePoti, Walter Curyk, David Jezercak, Louis Parise, Jason Parise and Jeffry Parise.
Friends called Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 5-8 PM.
