Jean M. Frisbie, of Carbondale, PA, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Wayne Woodland Manor, Waymart, PA, where she had been a resident. Jean was the widow of Norman Pete Frisbie who died June 24, 1993. They had been married for 53 years. Born in Simpson, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Antoinette Augustolnik Wisniewiski. She was educated in the Fell Township Public Schools. Prior to her retirement, Jean had worked in the garment industry as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Carbondale. Jean was known for hosting the family Christmas Eve dinner where she shared her ethnic Polish recipes with family members and friends. Surviving are two daughters: Rosemary Corrigan of Carbondale, PA and Carol Hannon and husband Joseph of Pittston, PA; three granddaughters: Michelle Corrigan of Carbondale, PA, Renee Corrigan Hanna and husband Arthur of Vandling, PA and Jamie Anderson and husband John of Scranton, PA; six great grandchildren: Christian, Abigail and Noah Anderson and Emily, James and William Hanna; one sister: Alberta Schulze and husband Paul Woegen; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Peter, Anthony and Adam; four sisters: Marie, Virginia, Frances Swaine and Ann Sidenstick. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of the Wayne Woodland Manor for the exceptional care and kindness extended to Jean while a resident there. The funeral was held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:30 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart, PA. Pallbearers: Arthur Hannah, James Hannah, John Anderson, Christian Anderson, Noah Anderson and Glenn Gebert.
