Obituary

Jean M. Brady, 85, of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday morning, June 21, 2012 at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, PA. She was the wife of Edward P. Brady who died on January 19, 1993. Born October 12, 1926 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Freda Schenk Lang. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. and during World War II she worked in Philadelphia for the Western Union Telegraph Company. After returning home she worked for Cramer's Photography in Carbondale and later stayed home to raise her family. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a secretary for Adams Cable in Carbondale. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. She is survived by one son: William Brady of Greenfield Township, PA.; one daughter: Susan Andrews and husband Jim of Northampton, PA.: four grandchildren: Jennifer Andrews, Jamie Andrews, Jason Andrews and wife Jennifer and Matt Andrews and wife Olivia; four great grandchildren: Tatum, Chase, Tess and Lola Jean; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son: Kevin Brady; one brother: Fred Lang; one sister: Shirley Higby. The funeral was held Monday, June 25, 2012 at 10:45 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with services at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, 20 N. Church Street, Carbondale, with Rev. Doug Posegate, pastor, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Friends called Monday, June 25, 2012 from 9:00 - 10:45 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made in Jean's name to Hospice Community Care, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA. 18512 Funeral Service 11:00 am Monday, June 25, 2012 First United Methodist Church Of Carbondale, Carbondale, PA 20 North Church Street Carbondale, Pennsylvania, United States
