Jayne M. Haley, 79, of Greenfield Township, PA, died Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 at home following a five year battle with a brain tumor. She was the wife of the late Charles M. Haley, who died August 22, 2010. They were married June 1, 1957 and had the privilege of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary before his passing.
Born August 17, 1935 in Madisonville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Havenstrite and Freema (Taylor) Noldy.
Jayne worked as a waitress in the restaurant at JC Penney, Dickson City and then worked in sales after the restaurant closed. She retired after forty years of service. She also worked at Bell Telephone Company in her early years while she resided in Philadelphia for a short time where she met her husband.
She was a faithful member of the Finch Hill Baptist Church and the ladies missionary group. She was a kind and generous person who loved the Lord. She was a very talented artist, and enjoyed painting and making floral arrangements for Sunday services. She also enjoyed gardening, and spending time at the pond near her home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice and all of her caregivers over the years, including, Jodi Huston, Ann Kolebuk, Bonnie Davis, Joan Makowski, Ora Echardt. Thank you for your exceptional care and most of all your love to Jayne.
She is survived by two sons: Charles Haley and wife Melody of Clifford Township, PA and John Haley and wife Gina of Greenfield Township, PA; four grandchildren: Matthew Haley and wife Eeva; Elizabeth, Colleen and Aidan Haley; a great granddaughter: Auli Haley; a sister: Mary King of Merritt Island, FL; a brother: Glenn Havenstrite and wife Diane of Dickson City, PA.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Miles and Charles Havenstrite.
A memorial service was held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Pastor Brian Nichols, pastor of the Finch Hill Baptist Church, officiating. Inurnment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 5-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to the Finch Hill Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
