Janet T. Grayeski, 98, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday evening, October 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Frank J. Grayeski, who died May 12, 2002. They were married August 19, 1950. Born February 4, 1920 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary Caljean Tolerico. Janet worked alongside her husband Frank, at Grayeski's Banner Food Store on Gordon Avenue, Carbondale, and then was a grocery clerk for the A & P Grocery Store. She retired from the Rea & Derick Drug Store, Carbondale, as a clerk. She was a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, and enjoyed dancing and socializing. She had a love for all the neighborhood children and her home and kitchen was open to everyone. She was also a professional wedding cake maker for many years. Janet's children would like to thank the nurses and staff from Home Health Care Professionals for the kind and compassionate care given to their mom during her illness. She is survived by four children: Ann Marie Grayeski of Carbondale, PA; Mary Lynn Grayeski of Clarks Summit, PA; Frank Grayeski and wife, Ann of Bridgewater, NJ and Richard Grayeski and wife, Margaret of Watkinsville, GA; six grandchildren: Geoffrey McKinney and wife, Brittany and their children, Rory and Emery; Philip Grayeski, Katherine Barker and husband, Kyle; William Grayeski, Paul and Peter Cheng; three brothers: Phillip Tolerico of Hollywood, FL; Louis Tolerico of Baltimore, MD and James Tolerico of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Joseph, Anthony, Raymond and Hubert Tolerico. The funeral was held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. James Price, C.P., pastor. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Paul Cheng, Peter Cheng, Geoffrey McKinney, William Grayeski, Anthony Tolerico & James Tolerico.
