Jane Marie Tolerico, 87, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at home surrounded by her family and close friends. She was the wife of the late Fred "Rick" Tolerico, who died December 25, 2004.
Born in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Mildred O'Connor Heenan. Educated in Carbondale public schools, she was of the catholic faith. Jane worked many years in the local garment industries, and after retirement enjoyed spending her days at Mazza Linen with those she considered family and close friends. Jane enjoyed her regular trips to the casinos; especially Atlantic City, was an avid Penn State fan and loved traveling with her family and special friend Tuch. She touched so many lives with her quick sense of humor and wit. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by two sons: Jack Tolerico and companion Donna Pavalone and Joseph Tolerico and wife Mary Lou, all of Carbondale, PA, two daughters: Rene' Pezak and husband Nick of Jessup, PA and Kimberly Michalek and husband Scott of Greenfield Township, PA, eight grandchildren: Stacey Serfass and husband Kevin of NY, Amy Jordan and companion Jimmy Jo Perri of Carbondale, PA, Heather Beckage and husband Dave of Jermyn, PA, Kay-Cee Pezak and companion Joe O'Malley of Dickson City, PA, Logyn Pezak and companion Matt Musheno of Peckville, PA, Shane Tolerico of NY, Joseph and Jordan Tolerico of Carbondale, PA, six great grandchildren: Madison, Mikayla and Colin Jordan, Ayden Beckage and Emily and Sophia Serfass; one sister: Claire Lewis and companion Joseph Zaccone of Carbondale, PA; three brothers: Raymond Heenan and wife Bea of TX, Patrick Heenan and wife Judy of Carbondale, PA and James Heenan and wife Aggie of Elk Lake, PA; many nieces and nephews including a special niece Kathi Blaha of NE, She was preceded in death by four brothers: Thomas, Jack, Roger and Joseph Heenan and two sisters: Mary Heenan and Marcella Smith. The funeral was held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. James Price, C.P., pastor and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Wes Blaha, Daniel Blaha, Anthony Tolerico, Carmine "Carney" Tolerico, J.R. Mazza and David Cerra. Friends called Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to St. Jude's Children's Research Center.
