Jane Ann Pesek, 75, of Carbondale, PA, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at home surrounded by her family after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard "Dick" Pesek on April 16, 2014.

Born June 16, 1947 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Jane Ann McDonald Sopko.

Jane Ann was a 1965 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and worked at the Carwanna Lunch in Carbondale, since she was a teenager. Over her 56 years at the Carwanna she worked with many close friends and served generations of customers. Her proudest title was mom, grandmother and Gigi. She was a best friend to each of her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife to her belated husband.

Jane Ann enjoyed going to the casino's, scratching bingo and crossword lottery tickets and sitting on her front porch relaxing with family. She made every holiday and birthday special for her family and carried on yearly family traditions that she was raised with. If you knew Jane Ann you knew she was the most-kindest, generous, strongest and caring person you would ever meet.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bekele and his P.A. Theresa Micknick, Dr. Brown, Dr. Lenahan and their P.A. Stephanie as well as, Traditional Home Health Care and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kind and compassionate care.

She is survived by three daughters: Lisa Postlethwaite and husband, Gordy of Carbondale, PA, Nina Granville and husband, Glen of Carbondale, PA and Lori Terpak and husband, Stephen of Carbondale, PA; four grandchildren: Kyle Pesek and wife, Ashley, Joshua Terpak, Alyssa and Paxton Postlethwaite; three great-grandchildren: Annabella Terpak, Oliver and Nora Pesek; one brother: Nicholas Sopko, Jr. and wife, Phyllis of Carbondale, PA; three sisters: Geraldine Chichak and husband, Thomas of Eynon, PA, Mary Voglino and husband, Thomas of Carbondale, PA and Debbie Burns and husband, Kurt of Clifford, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a niece: Tracie Voglino.

The funeral was held Saturday, February 4, 2023 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, senior priest. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Gordy Postlethwaite, Glen Granville, Stephen Terpak, Kyle Pesek, Joshua Terpak and T.J. Chichak.

Viewing hours were held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4-7 p.m.
