James C. Wright, 73, of Carbondale, PA., died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Commonwealth Hospice, Scranton, PA. He was the husband of the former Anna M. Toms.
Born in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Robert and Edith Dilts Wright.
He was a member First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale and served with the 109th Infantry of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Baumann's Salvage Yard, Cross Engineering, Sugerman's Department Store and Casket Shells, Inc.
He is survived by four daughters: Nancy Skeen of Carbondale, PA, Edith Wright of Rome, PA, Rose Boyles of Carbondale, PA and Millie Rowe of Peckville, PA; 15 grandchildren, including Gary Davis, who was like a son; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Millie Kimble, Roberta Chesick and Betty Soltis; one brother: Robert Wright.
The funeral was held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 7:00 PM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale., with Rev. Art Davis, pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Scranton, officiating. Cremation followed. Inurnment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
