James M. Sweeney, 77, a guest of the Forest City Personal Care Home, Forest City, PA., and formerly of Deer Park, Long Island, NY., died Tuesday morning, July 18, 2006 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. He was the husband of the late Jean Marie Sweeney. Born October 29, 1928 in New York City, he was the son of the late Jack and Ella Bruder Sweeney. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a stage hand in the entertainment industry and was a member of the Theatrical Stage Employees Union, Local One, I.A.T.S.E. Devoted father of Curtis M. Sweeney and Maureen E. Blundell and the late James R. Sweeney. Proud grandfather of Curtis, Timothy, Steven, Debra, Tracy and Shannon and great grandfather of nine. The funeral was held Friday, July 21, 2006 from the Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45 AM at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, Deer Park. Interment, Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, NY. Friends called Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 7-9:30 PM and Thursday, July 20, 2006 from 2-5 7-9:30 PM at the Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home. Local arrangement were entrusted under the care of the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA.
