James J. Petruzella, Jr., age 83, of Carbondale, PA. died late Saturday evening, January 15, 2005 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA after an illness. His wife is the former Constance Grablutz.
Born February 28, 1921 in Carbondale, PA. He was the son of the late James J., Sr. and Theresa A. (Lovito) Petruzella.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale. He was a World War II Navy Veteran where he earned the Victory Medal, American Campaign and Good Conduct Awards. Prior to his retirement he worked as a product manager at Gentex Corporation in Simpson, PA. for over 37 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and golf. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by one daughter: Connie Cwikla of Jessup, PA.; one son: James J., III. wife Cheryl Petruzella of Broadheadsville, PA.; three sisters: Margaret Umholtz of Salem, NH., Angela Lapera of Carbondale, PA. and Evelyn Pettinato of Newton Lake, PA.; one brother: John Petruzella of Berwick, PA.; seven grandsons: Joby, Shaun Cory Cwikla and Jimmy, IV., Adam, Andrew Jacob; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one sister: Jeanette Coggins
The funeral was held Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 10:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Charles P. Connor, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Tuesday, January 18, 2005 from 5-9 pm. Pallbearers: Joby Cwikla, Shaun Cwikla, Cory Cwikla, Jimmy Pettinato, Michael Dux and Jack Jones.
