Obituary

James L. Lewis, 66, a resident of the Julia Ribaudo Care Center, Lake Ariel, PA, died Monday evening, January 11, 2016 at Julia Ribaudo. His wife the former Shirley Cole Keesler, died on December 13, 2014. Born August 4, 1949 in Deposit, NY, he was the son of the late Earl Lewis and Ula Rachel Rynearson Lewis Taylor. He was the step son of the late James Taylor. He was a former resident of Honesdale, PA and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver for Robert W. Hansen Trucking, Wisconsin. Jim also served in the Army during the Vietnam War era. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gun collector. He is survived by a sister: Linda Decker of Binghamton, NY; four brothers: Wayne Lewis and wife Sally of Maybrook, NY, Edward Lewis and wife Viola of Sidney, NY, Ronald Lee Lewis and companion Ruth of Vestal, NY and James Whit Taylor, III. of Fresno, CA; several nieces and nephews; six step children: Lynn Robert Cole of Beach Lake, PA, Gene Alton Keesler of White Mills, PA, Kenneth Allen Keesler of Franklin, PA, Tracie Miller of Damascus, PA, Susan Bates of Pennsylvania and Cathy Kovaleski of Narrowsburg, NY; 13 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter Lewis, Nelson Lewis and Bernie Lewis; a sister: Barbara DeGroat. As per Jim's request, he was cremated and no services were held. Interment, Matamoras, PA. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
