Obituary

James Frank Kenyon, 78, of Greenfield Township, PA, died Saturday morning, June 6, 2015 at the VNA Hospice, Scranton, PA. Born April 8, 1937 in Peckville, PA, he was the son of the late Jesse and Vivian James Kenyon. Jim was a 1955 graduate of Harford High School and owned and operated Kenyon's Body Shop, Clifford, PA, for over fifty years before his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Clifford Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon and moderator. He served as secretary for both the Willow View Cemetery Association, Clifford and also the Clifford Township Supervisors for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company where he served as chief for over 15 years and a member of the Mount Hermon Masonic Lodge #472 of Union Dale. Jim was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by four daughters: Jodi Shinn of Clifford, PA, Sheri Gaughan and husband Philip of Greenfield Township, PA, Suzi Wallis and husband Jeff of Fell Township, PA and Lauren Kenyon and longtime companion Joe Scotch of Fell Township, PA; former wife and lifelong friend: Frances; six grandchildren: Megan Pregmon and husband Bill, Hilary Shinn, Rachel Gaughan Walczak and husband Leon, Carly Gaughan Holleran and husband Brendan, Ashley and Josh Wallis; two great grandchildren: Keira and Liam Pregmon; one brother: Rick Kenyon of Frederick, MD; one niece: Jessica Kenyon. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Jesse Joseph Gaughan. The funeral was held Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Clifford Baptist Church, Clifford, PA, with Pastor Bonnie Resseguie and Pastor Jack Race, officiating. Interment, Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Josh Wallis, Leon Walczak, Jr., William Pregmon, Brendan Holleran, John D'Anna and Dale Grant. Friends called Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. A masonic service was held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations were sent to the Clifford Baptist Church, PO Box 59, Clifford, PA 18413.
