James E. Correll, 73, of Forest City, PA, died Monday, August 24, 2015 in the emergency room at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA, following a lengthy illness.
Born December 21, 1941 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar and Marjorie Lloyd Correll.
Jim was a 1959 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and served in the Navy for four years. He worked as an operating room technician for close to 40 years and was employed at many hospitals in New York and on the West Coast. He was also a member of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church, Lenoxville, PA. Jim was an avid collector of all types of clocks. He also enjoyed fixing them.
He is survived by a sister: Nancy Snyder of Lenoxville, PA; a brother: David Correll and wife Margaret of Lenoxville, PA; a sister-in-law: Darlene Correll of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Edward, Walter and Eugene Correll; a brother-in-law: John "Fuzzy" Snyder; a sister-in-law: Jean Correll. A funeral service was held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Pastor Eric Watkins, of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church, officiating. Inurnment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart, PA.
Friends called Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations were sent to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
