James F. Carden, 79, of Carbondale, PA, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. His wife of 17 years, the former Ingrid Weigand Brace passed away four days earlier.

Born September 11, 1945 in Carbondale, PA, He was the son of the late Frank "Windy" and Beatrice Fortuner Carden. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later retired from the Chamberlain Corporation, Scranton, PA. He was a former member of the Northeastern Detachment of the Marine Corps League and the American Legion.

He is survived by two sisters: Pat Carr and Frankee Perry; several nieces and nephews; and a step-daughter: Tamara Dougher.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Rose Flanagan, Betty Noelte and Elsabet Lane; a brother: Francis "Windy" Carden; and a step-son: Ramon "Ray" Brace.
