Obituary

Jackie Lee Ross, Sr., of Nicholson, PA., died early Saturday morning, July 23, 2011 at the Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor, PA. Born November 24, 1947 in Glenwood, PA., he was the son of the late Charles W., Sr., and Gladys Ruth (Hunter) Ross. He was a graduate of Mountain View High School and was a logger for 32 years at Chester Kilmer's Logging Company. His greatest joy was attending the races at Penn Can and Five Mile Point Speedways every Friday and Saturday nights. He also enjoyed fishing. He is survived by one son: Jackie Lee Ross, Jr. and fiancee Kellie Gillette of Nicholson, PA.; two grandsons: Zachary Allen and Joshua Mark Ross; one granddaughter: Ashley Nicole Ross; two sisters: Gladys Harvey of Montrose, PA. and Lois Whitbeck of Nicholson, PA.; two brothers: Charles Ross of Nicholson, PA. and James Ross of Hop Bottom, PA.; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Bruce Ross; two nephews: Charles Howard Ross and Randy Ransom. A memorial service was held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 8:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA., with Rev. Levi Ransom, officiating. Friends called Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6-8 PM.
