Hugh V. Cotter, Jr., 73, of Thompson, PA, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at Linwood Nursing Center, Scranton, PA. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol Cotter.
Born April 24, 1942 in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late Hugh, Sr. and Elizabeth Jeane Sabatino Cotter.
Hugh was a Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Thompson United Methodist Church and enjoyed coin collecting. He had been a self employed small engine repairman.
He is survived by three daughters: Barbara Cotter of Hallstead, PA, Elizabeth Cotter of Thompson, PA and Debra Cotter and husband David Tran of Branford, CT; two sons: Brandon and Justin Cotter both of Thompson, PA; a sister: Hilda Jeane Cioffi of Philadelphia, PA.
The funeral with military honors was held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Thompson United Methodist Church, 586 Main Street, Thompson, PA, officiated by Pastor Edward Cameron. A visitation was held prior to the service at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. Cremation followed.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
