Howard K. Castle, age 61, of 53 Park Street, Carbondale, died late Wednesday evening, January 29, 2003, at the VNA Hospice at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, after a battle with cancer. His wife was the former Jean Yestrepsky, who died March 16, 1981.
Born November 24, 1941 in Sidney, NY. He was the son of the late Francis M. and Virginia J. (Northup) Freeman.
Prior to his illness, he was employed for over 30 years at United Laminations Company, Mayfield.
His children and grandchildren were everything to him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by one daughter: Barbara Mosher of Carbondale, PA.; one son: Francis Castle of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Donna Huffert of Carbondale, PA.; one brother: Fred Castle of Archbald, PA.; one son-in-law: Joseph Puza of Carbondale, PA.; three granddaughters: Aeriel, Dawn and Madison; three grandsons; Bobby, Jamie, and Joey; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one brother: Gerald Castle
The funeral was held Saturday, February 1, 2003, at 11:00 am in the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Barbara Snyder, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Carbondale, officiating. Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald.
A viewing was held Friday, January 31, 2003, from 2-4 and 7-9.
