Homer C. Ross, age 92, of Jackson Township, PA. and formerly of Clifford, PA., passed away Monday evening, February 12, 2007 at home. He was the husband of the late Ruth H. Hettes who died January 6, 1996.
Born July 6, 1914 in Clifford, PA., he was the son of the late Charles S. and Eva (Ross) Ross.
He was a member of the North Jackson United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Nicholson Schools. He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II. He owned and operated Ross Auto Service in Clifford and Homer C. Ross Son, Inc. in North Jackson, both for 30 years. He was a charter member of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by one daughter: Joan Carlson of Atlanta, GA.; three sons: John W. wife Carol A. Ross of Ulster (Bradford County), PA., Lloyd H. wife Joan Ross of Lancaster, PA. and Erving C. wife Nancy L. Ross of Hallstead, PA.; one brother: Van Cleft E. Ross of Nicholson, PA.; 12 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one son: Warren Kent Ross; one daughter: Cheryl Ann Ross; one sister: Evelyn Goodrich; one brother: John Wesley Ross
The funeral was held Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff Main Streets, Clifford, with the Rev. Kenneth Bitler, pastor of the North Jackson United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
Friends called Friday, February 16, 2007 from 6-9 PM.
