Holly Smith, 21, of Union Dale, PA., died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the JFK Medical Center, in West Palm Beach, FL. Born December 4, 1986 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of Glenn Smith of Harford, PA. and Lorraine Valentine of Union Dale, PA. She attended the Mountain View School District and graduated third in her class in 2005. She went on to attend Mohawk Valley Community College-Utica Branch, where she majored in restaurant and hotel management. She had dreams of owning her own restaurant. She was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa international Honor Society. Her interests included higher education, reading, music and a strong love of animals. She was also a member of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA. She is survived by two brothers: Brendan and Gary Smith both of Harford, PA.; maternal grandparents: Frank and Louise Valentine of Union Dale, PA; paternal grandfather: Wayne Smith of Nicholson, PA; paternal grandmother: Dorothy Smith of Huntington Beach, CA; Many Loving Aunts, Uncles Cousins. She was preceded in death by an aunt: Diane Valentine; an uncle: Gary Smith. The funeral was held Monday, July 28, 2009 at 8:30 AM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 102 Dundaff Street, Clifford, PA., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, Route 106, Royal, celebrated by Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 2-4 6-8 PM. Pallbearers: Brendan Smith, Gary Smith, Greg Smith, Wayne Smith, Darren Canfield and Joe Valentine.
