Helen Thompson, of Carbondale, PA., died early Sunday morning, January 31, 2010 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA., where she had been a resident for the past 5 years. She was the wife of the late Edward Red Thompson who died March 16, 1996.
Born in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late David and Johanna (Sullivan) Lynch.
She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.
She is survived by one son: Edward Thompson and wife Nancy of Sewell, NJ.; two daughters: Jo Ann Judge and husband Peter of Carbondale, PA. and Mary Cosminski and husband Philip of Dalton, PA.; 7 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred Mangan and Marguerite Rouland.
The funeral was held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:15 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Thomas Judge, Matthew Judge, Sam Cosminski, Michael Morrin, Zachary Morrin, William Rouland and Michael Mangan.
Friends called Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
