Helen Rohalevich, 95, of Carbondale, PA, died Wednesday morning, August 20, 2014 at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carbondale, where she had resided for the past six years.
Born November 3, 1918 in Oxford, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Theodisa Hamar Rohalevich. She was of the Russian Orthodox faith and had been retired from the Gentex Corporation in Simpson, PA.
She is survived by one sister: Olga Ditchko of Clark, NJ; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters; Anna Burry, Mary Edwards, Alice and Catherine Rohalevich; one brother: Leon Rohalevich. A private funeral was held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Requiem Service by the Very Reverend Mitred Archpriest John Sorochka, pastor of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, PA. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
