Helen E. Kasarda, 84, of Falls Township, PA, died Sunday, December 25, 2022 at home with her husband by her side. Her husband is Rudolph A. Kasarda. They were married June 17, 1961.

Born September 17, 1938 in Buffalo, NY, but raised in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Bendowski Labrosky.

Helen was a 1956 graduate of West Scranton High School and was a seamstress in the local garment industry in Scranton and Wilkes Barre for many years. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton, and a current member of the Church of Saint Benedict.

She was a member of the Idlette's Bowling League and enjoyed traveling with her husband Rudy. Her greatest joy was raising her children and her time spent with her grandchildren.

She is also survived by her three children: Joseph A. Kasarda and 30-year domestic partner, Woodrow A. Troupe of San Francisco, CA, Cynthia Brunozzi of Aliso Viejo, CA and Rudy A. Kasarda of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren: Sabrina and Lena Brunozzi, Haley Haselton, Nicole, Cayden and Niko Kasarda; one sister: Christine Devine of Scranton, PA; two brothers: Joseph Labrosky of Pahrump, NV and Louis Labrosky of Scranton, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Church of Saint Benedict, 1849 Newton Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit, PA, celebrated by Msgr. Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, St. John's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Forest City, PA.

Pallbearers were her son, Joseph A. Kasarda and her nephew, Joseph Labrosky, Jr.

A viewing was held on Friday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements were under the care of the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
